About me
Hi, my name is Daniel.
I’m father to a little girl, Mia, who currently takes up the almost entirety of my free time.
I am a tech enthusiast, an avid traveller, and an aspiring cook.
I am Portuguese, but I have lived in Ireland since 2016.
I have purposely chosen a .eu domain for this site as I feel that this is a good way to signal a bit of who I am - and that is, a citizen from a EU country who made use of the freedom of movement to take up a better job within a different EU country, and ended up adopting the new country as my own.
It is also a good warning for any american reader, who might otherwise be shocked at mentions of paid parental leave or other socialist nightmares. 🙂
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Post-grad degree in Monetary and Financial Economics.
I am also particularly interested in Behavioural Economics and it’s impact on risk-related decision making, although I have not had the chance to formally study this field.
I got my first computer at age 7 (a Pentium MMX), and ever since I’ve always been interested in technology. While I have never had formal training nor education in IT, it’s something I have dealt with all my life and which I have learned about by reading online and experimenting.
